Get ready for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite with these character introduction videos by Matt Edwards

The next chapter of Vs. series history is about to be written, as the highly-anticipated Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is just a week away from its release. To get players prepared to enter the battlefield, Capcom UK Community Manager Matt “The Street Writer” Edwards has begun to put together a series of character introduction videos for several cast members, in the vein of his past videos for Street Fighter V.

So far, Edwards has compiled videos for Mega Man X, Morrigan, Ryu, Iron Man, Captain America, and Captain Marvel, with videos for the other 24 fighters sure to be released in the coming days ahead (possibly in release order, as these were the first six characters to be revealed when the game was announced back in December at PlayStation Experience). These videos provide a very brief character introduction, along with a look at uses for each of their special moves and Hyper combos. Unique skills — such as X being able to combo his weapons into each other — are demonstrated, in addition to both a basic and advanced-level combo (complete with full notations) for players looking to try out each character.

Finally, Edwards makes a specific Infinity Stone recommendation to pair with each warrior before heading into battle, such as using the Mind Stone to provide X more attack variety (with its Surge being a stunning command grab, while the Infinity Storm provides him with a significant increase in Hyper combo meter to make more use of his Armor of Light).

We also get a look at each character victory animation, as well as a clear listen to their new Character Themes. You can see each video Edwards has released in the series below.

We also have a Japanese character trailer for X from the official CapcomChannel, similarly to the one they recently released for Iron Man, which also displays his official character artwork.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be released in North America and Europe next Tuesday, September 19th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. A Japanese release will follow on Thursday, September 21st, on the same platforms.
